Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) Test
- Wear a mask when talking to the testing staff
- You will be assessed in your car by a staff member who will take notes
- A health professional will take a nasal swab
- You will be able to return home. You will need to isolate until you have received a negative result
- You will receive your test result via text.
Rapid Antigen Test
- Wear a mask when talking to the testing staff
- You will be assessed in your car by a staff member who will take your details
- You will be given a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) pack to take home. You will also receive a text with instructions on how to report a RAT in My COVID Record
- You will need to isolate until you have received a negative result
- If you test positive, please record this result using the instructions in the text you received.
We encourage you to wear a mask at all times, even outside, while visiting the testing site.
You may be asked to wear a surgical mask when speaking to a member of our team. If you do not have a surgical mask, we will give you one.
Due to the spread of Omicron in the community, we want to make sure that we keep all our patients as safe as possible. Maintaining physical distancing helps minimise the spread of the virus. This is for your safety and for the safety of the other patients.
If you feel nauseous or if you feel unsafe to drive, please alert a staff member for assistance.
Wait times will be variable and depend on the number of people in the queue waiting to get tested.
There is a portaloo available for your use. If you can’t see any, a staff member can point you in the right direction.
We do not perform ‘Fit to Fly’ COVID-19 testing here. These are performed at General Practices around Christchurch.
