National e-Small Group Series 2023

What is the series?

The National e-Small Group Series – 2023 offers a limited number* of complementary spaces to primary health clinicians across Aotearoa NZ who do not currently run the programme, the series is a total of 3 online meetings between July – December 2023.

This series will allow practitioners not familiar with the current programme the opportunity to find out more about Small Group and experience it for themselves prior to making a financial commitment. Participants will be required to attend meetings virtually and to complete online feedback after each meeting.

What is required to be involved?

You’ll need to understand the time commitment and be available to attend meetings.

Participants will need access to join the meeting virtually using zoom (video required to be used by all participants).

  • Pre-reading for each topic – 1 hour in your own time
  • Topic virtual meeting – 1.5 hours as per the dates and times listed.

* Attendees must attend a minimum of 2/3 sessions to maintain a place in the series.

Early Cancer Diagnosis in Primary Care – Monday, 31 July, 7:30-9:00pm, via Zoom

There are known disparities and inequities in cancer diagnosis and treatment. In primary care we have an important role to play in encouraging screening, advocating for patients, communication (patients, family, secondary care), and safety netting.

Neurodiversity with a focus on ADHD – Monday, 2 October, 7:30-9:00pm, via Zoom

Neurodiversity is part of the interwoven uniqueness of the human condition. It involves a difference in processing of the world around us. Recognising and reinforcing strengths, whilst supporting those that struggle with the interface of themselves and a structure that has been built by the ‘neurotypical’ is where primary care has a crucial role to play.
