Here Toitū

Here Toitū is an empowering service that helps you recognise your potential to achieve your goals and aspirations by helping you find and maintain meaningful work, study or volunteer experience, improving your wellbeing and whānaungatanga.

The Here Toitū dedicated support team will help you to:

  • Identify your strengths and how to use them
  • Find employment
  • Assist you with volunteering or study goals
  • Access health and fitness providers to improve your wellbeing
  • Connect with local support providers

This service is completely free and is available for people living in the Christchurch region who are having health issues, are on a Ministry of Social Development benefit and have a medical certificate or will be on a medical certificate, and are motivated to return to work.

A Kaimanaaki (Health Navigator) is able to assist you for up to 12 months so you can feel supported to make and sustain the goals that you are working towards.

Supporting you to achieve your goals

A Kaimanaaki will walk alongside you on your journey and help you set your goals and aspirations. These can be anything that is important to you and your whānau whether that’s for your health, wellbeing, learning or work.

They will then help link you with services and organisations that will help you achieve your goals as well as connecting you with members of the Here Toitū kaimahi (team) to help you with things such as budgeting and finances.

To be able to join Here Toitū you must be:

  • 18 – 64 years old
  • Have or be obtaining a medical certificate
  • Currently receiving a Ministry of Social Development benefit
  • Have a GP
