Living & Working in Canterbury

Christchurch is New Zealand’s second largest city and the main population hub in the South Island, with a multi-cultural population of 376,700.

Located on the east coast of New Zealand’s South Island, it’s the gateway to fishing, skiing, tramping, golfing, rafting, jet boating, mountain biking, and many more activities.

Geographically it’s a diverse region, from sunny beaches and fertile Canterbury plains with rock-strewn braided rivers, to the Southern Alps which make up the back-bone of the South Island.

One of the remarkable things about our beautiful city and region is that you can be on the beach in the morning and in the mountains a few hours later.

Even though the city has suffered earthquake damage, the rebuild effort continues to make this a vital place to live and work. It has an active business and education workforce, along with plenty of innovative art, culture, shopping, great food and many wineries nearby.

Christchurch’s moderate climate suits year-round recreational and leisure activities and many of our staff make the most of having such a great playground on their doorstep.

Christchurch was named  number 6 in the Lonely Planet Guide’s Top 10 Cities to Visit in 2013, the energy that Christchurch people have been putting into make the city a great place to live and come back to is unmistakeable – and it shows!
